  • What does the repair process involve?
    Call our office if you've been involved in an accident. We will be happy to make arrangements to have your vehicle towed to our body shop. We will assist you in communicating with your insurance company to acquire a claim number. This is the number the insurance company assigns to your vehicle's repair. Sign required forms at our body shop. If a vehicle rental is needed, we are happy to provide you with complimentary vehicle drop-off and pick-up service. We will create an estimate and communicate what we've found with your insurance company. In most cases, the insurance company will send an adjuster to confirm our findings and approve the estimate. Once the estimate is created, we order the required parts and begin the repair. We perform the necessary repairs as efficiently and expeditiously as possible, and call you immediately upon completion. If a rental was required, Boston Road Collision is happy to provide you with complimentary vehicle drop-off and pick-up service. It's ready! Your vehicle will be delivered to you in beautiful pre-collision condition. We will ask that you inspect the vehicle and ensure that you are 100% satisfied with the repair. We present you with a written lifetime warrantee for the repairs made to your vehicle, collect any monies due, ask that you complete a customer satisfaction survey to let us know about your experience at BRC, and thank you for your business.
  • My vehicle was towed to another body shop- How can I get it to Boston Road Collision?
    As is customary with any body shop, you will most probably be asked to sign a document called an “Authorization to Repair”. You are not obligated to sign this document if you don't wish to have your vehicle repaired at that particular body shop. Should you choose to have us repair your vehicle, we will be happy to assist you at that point- simply give us a call and we will be happy to guide you through the necessary steps to have it brought to our facility.
  • Do I have to go to a repair body shop recommended by my insurance company?
    No. Section 2610 of the NYS Insurance law clearly states, "Whenever a motor vehicle collision or comprehensive loss shall have been suffered by an insured, no insurer providing collision or comprehensive coverage therefore shall require that repairs be made to such vehicle in a particular place or shop or by a particular concern. In processing any such claim (other than a claim solely involving window glass), the insurer shall not, unless expressly requested by the insured, recommend or suggest repairs be made to such vehicle in a particular place or shop or by a particular concern". Simply stated, the choice is yours where to have your vehicle repaired. An honest auto body repair shop will not claim otherwise.
  • Am I obligated to file a claim with my insurance company?
    No. Depending on the choices you've made regarding your insurance premium, sometimes it is less expensive to pay for the repairs out of pocket than to file a claim with your insurance company. Visit us for a free estimate and we can assist you in determining which option is the better alternative. We strive to keep our prices fair and will quote you accordingly.
  • How long will it take to repair my vehicle? Will insurance pay for my rental?
    Our computerized estimating system gives us an idea of how long the repairs will take. During that time you may be entitled to a free vehicle rental through yours or the other driver's insurance company. We will be happy to contact the insurance company find that information out for you, and provide you with our complimentary vehicle drop-off and pick-up service.
  • What does "lifetime warranty" mean?
    We are pleased to offer written, lifetime warranties on all vehicle repairs for as long as you own the vehicle. These are the repairs listed on the invoice we present you with at delivery. Should another collision or event occur in which damage is done to the same area, however, that is considered a separate event and the warranty no longer would apply.
  • What is a deductible?
    A deductible is an amount that you agreed upon with your insurance company when your policy was written. This is the amount that you are obligated to pay "out of pocket". Insurance will pay the additional cost of the claim.
  • What is a direct repair facility?
    Insurance companies contract with certain facilities of their choice to represent them as direct repair facilities. If your insurance company offers direct repair facilities, they will most likely suggest that you have your vehicle repaired there. Under New York State Insurance Law #2610, you have the choice of where to have your vehicle repaired. While BRC is a direct repair body shop for some insurance companies, it is not necessary for us to be a direct repair body shop for your insurance company in order to for us to repair your vehicle. We gladly work with all insurance companies and provide the same outstanding service and lifetime written warrantees to every customer.
  • Do I need to get more than one estimate?
    No. It is only necessary to get one estimate from the auto body repair shop that you have chosen to repair your vehicle.
